Programs and Tickets: Fencing

Fencing team was founded and coached by Ron Miller in 1967 initially as a physical education class. The team achieved varsity status in 1970 and went on to win eight conference titles between 1971 and 1980, Miller served as the head coach from 1967 until his passing in 2023. Over his 52-year tenure, Miller recorded 1,602 wins, making him both the longest-tenured coach at UNC and the winningest coach in NCAA history.
